| A circus tragedy leaves two performers
dead in Detroit. |

During a Shrine Circus performance at the
State Fairgrounds Coliseum in Detroit, the 7-member Flying Wallendas'
"human pyramid" collapsed. Seven thousand spectators watched
as two of the performers fell 36 feet to their deaths.
